Today, I would like to talk you about the influence of geometry in the society. If we take a look just a moment to our surrounds, we can find a lot of geometric figures and we can realise that everything is formed by them. For example, the buildings are usually rectangles and their windows squares, even the traffic signals are made by geometric figures, such as circle, triangle, square, etc. We are accustomed to these curiosities that we do not realise that everything has a geometric figure. Therefore, I consider that it is especially important to make see students pay attention to their surroundings and we can relate easily their daily life with those contents that we want to teach them. In this way, they will be more interested in learning geometry and will have a purpose of discovering by themselves through the use of geometry.
